Straight out of a radical alternative school aged 17 Finn formed art-pop band Klaxons with fellow New Cross scenester and Goldsmiths alumni Jamie Reynolds. Klaxons’s first record Myths Of The Near Future, went on to achieve number 2 in the UK album charts and the prestigious Mercury Award in 2007. 

Finn was also active in working at indie label Twenty Four Records as assistant to founder Oliver Guy-Watkins, and was involved in organising shows that included acts such as Electric Six, Babyshambles, and Jamie T

Leaving Klaxons early on to work on a new project, Hatcham Social, which was quickly picked up by Loog records and featured in NME. The band signed to TBD in USA (cosy rosta with Radiohead) and king of the indies UK Fierce Panda. Hatcham Social went on to achieve across the board critical success with Vice giving them 10 out of 10, Artrocker Album of the week and The Guardian praising their live shows. 

Along with his work with Hatcham Social, Finn became a member of the supergroup The Chavs which was an live side-project for a number of artists including Carl Barat, Tim Burgess, Jamie Reynolds, Martin Duffy, Didz Hammond, Gary Powell and Anthony Rossomando. In 2012 Finn became the regular drummer for Tim Burgess of The Charlatans and toured extensively, as well as making appearances on TV and Radio. This culminated in headlining the Barbican Centre with support from Lambchop who were flown over from Texas for the show. 

In 2013 Finn wrote and recorded an EP of solo material under the guise of Blue Moon. Released on limited edition coloured cassette and download through independent singles label Cool For Cats. Blue Moon would go on to play a handful of live shows around London, with the band being made up with members of Hatcham Social, and indie pop darlings Flowers

2015 saw Finn embark on a new venture forming a writing partnership with The History of Apple Pie/Yassassin’s Joanna Curwood. Beds In Parks quickly turned into a hyped live act, gaining NME Radar spots, and multiple UK festival appearances. Along with a vinyl release on Tim Burgess’s O Genesis label. 

Between 2016 and 2019 Finn was a member of sun-drenched indie pop band Average Sex. Finn produced their first release “Ice Cream, which went on to be featured on Crocodile Laboratories’ anti-Brexit compilation “Better Off Together”. The band would go on to sign to O Genesis records and tour extensively over the next few years, including support slots with The Charlatans, and shows at Brixton Academy. Average Sex have released three EPs, a string of singles and have an album coming out in France in June 2020. 

Since 2013 Finn has co-owned Crocodile Laboratories, an indie label who specialise in the space between art and popular music. Releasing cassettes, CDs, Vinyl and download, the label is distributed by the largest independent distribution in Europe, Cargo, and has achieved support from NME, Artrocker, and Spotify for Artists. Their release of Average Sex’s “We’re Done” reached over 20,000 plays in only 1 week on YouTube. Last year saw them release singer/songwriter Amy Studt’s anticipated third album Happiest Girl in The Universe, becoming one of Rough Trade’s best sellers.  Finn also played drums and percussion on the entire record.
